In 2000, the Canadian government passed new legislation, similar to US, to allow the use of non-polluting low-speed vehicles, (LSV) on roads that have under-70 km/hr speed limits. Late 1999, Dynasty Motorcar Corp. of British Columbia engaged a Montreal-based design group led by Deutschman Design to carry out the development of their entire LSV vehicle, called the “IT”.
This included:
styling and body engineering
chassis, drivetrain and suspension design
electrical engineering
parts sourcing
By employing highly innovative development techniques, the small multi-talented Montreal team guided the “IT” into production only 17 months after the project was launched. The client Dynasty, despite being over 3000 miles away, was able to monitor the progress on-line.
